Moscow foodhalls to conquer Saint Petersburg


DEPO and StrEat owners from Moscow are showing interest in the St. Petersburg market.

Popular gastronomic venues from Moscow are preparing to enter the St. Petersburg market. The opening of the first "DEPO" project in the city, owend by "Kiev Square" Nisanov and Iliev, may take place in 2020.

According to market participants, Depo is also considering a 12,000 square meter site to open a second food mall in Moscow. "In Saint-Petersburg we could count on opening Depo food hall  with ​​no more than 5000 sq.m. area" -  says Mikhail Burmistrov, CEO of Infoline.  First "DEPO" on Miusskaya street locates more than 70 concept restaurant concepts on ​​11,000 square meters.

At the same time, StrEat owners - another gastronomic project from Moscow, which combines 35 concepts on ​​2200 square meters in Avtozavodskaya metro area, sizes up St. Petersburg market.

Experts estimate, that St. Petersburg market could hold up to seven such sites. To date, the Vasileostrovsky market and City Food are operating as part of the City Mall shopping center in St. Petersburg.  Zemskiy Group food market is planning its opening in the Gallery shopping mall.
